Wonderfully exciting news at theDoubleTrouble household !! A while back I was contacted by the lady who runs Boxer Rescue and Adoption in Reston VA (the rescue I adopted Jaimee from) asking me to write "our" story of how we came to rescue Jaimee. Seems as though she had been contacted by a publishing company who is writing a series of books about animal rescue "tails"...feel good kind of stories of the Lost Souls of the animal world that find second chances at life through rescue organizations. Dianne knew of my passion of dog rescue and asked me to write our story and submit it for consideration. I did just that but I never said anything much to anyone as I knew being on the national level that our chances of being selected were pretty slim...inconceivable, I thought.... Well, guess what?? Our story HAS been selected and WILL be published in the book!! The entries were chosen as either a "short" little paragraph blurb or as a full feature with picture included and Jaimee was chosen as one of the dogs for a full feature with her beautiful face for all the world to see..to say that I am a little excited is an understatement. A portion of the books proceeds will of course be donated to rescue organizations and that makes my heart sing!! They donate $2.00 of every book sale to animal rescue and YOU get to choose the rescue form the list on the site...the rescues are the ones that the individual dogs that are in the book came from. It sells for $12.95 regular price but if you buy it during the presale time you can get it for $10.95 IF you opt to take that discount...if you forfeit your presale discount, they will take that $2.00 and donate it to your rescue choice or they will donate it to the Haiti Animal Relief fund...so during the presale period $4.00 of every sale gets donated if you choose to forfeit your personal discount. They can be pre-ordered at the website...LOL..my family and friends are already scooping them up, so I am gearing up to get the princess to do all those "paw-tagraphs" My brother says however that she may not have time to do all of them since she will be sooo busy with her book tour, having drinks with Brad and Angelina and of course going to that Lakers game with Jack Nicholson!!
